ABBEGAIL SUMMERALL [SHARPE] [CROMARTIE]
Abbegail Summerall and Cezar Sharpe were married on April 7, 1872 according to Georgia Marriage Records. Abbegail would have been around 18 years old and Caesar around 31 years old. We have records for 16 children born to Abbegail and Caesar.
She and Cezar owned land in Surrency and Baxley. The land is listed in the Georgia Property Tax Record under the name of her husband, Cezar, as was common practice at that time.
In the 1900 census Abbegail has been married for 2 years to Thomas Cromartie. Lula Sharp is the last child reported born to Abbegail and Cezar in 1896 so we assume Cezar passed after her birth and before Abbegail's marriage to Thomas in 1898.
There is no record of children born to the marriage of Thomas Cromartie. In the 1900 census Chelsey and Colonel's last name, and in the 1910 census, Tommie's last name is recorded as Cromartie. However in the 1900 census, Tommie's last name was Sharp and on Chelsey's marriage certificate and Colonel's death certificate Sharp is their last name.
We do not yet have a record of Abbegail 's passing. She is listed in the 1920 census but not in the 1930 census. Therefore, we assume she passed during the 1920's.
